    Thoughts on eMachines laptop

I noticed that the eMachines m5405 laptop was an editors choice in PC Magazine and its on sale this week for $799.99 at Best Buy. I think eMachines was recently bought out by Gateway, who makes good laptops, but would it be a mistake to buy the eMachines?

    Gr8 deal, beats dell's offer by a longshot. Sempron 2800+>celery, 15.4" screen >14", 512>256 ram... etc.

I checked out dell's page for you and upgraded their $719 base laptop to match your specs, came up to $1000.
Mr. Jiggyfly, I have good news...

I'd go with the emachines personally. Bigger screen and twice the memory for the same price.

    And a faster CPU

I would also take the emachines without thinking twice about it.

Anyone have a link to where I can get that emachines for 600 bucks?
