Holy Crap..!
I came home today and my main machine (T-Bird) was off....i noticed that the power had flashed sometime today...
I went to turn it on and it wont post.. The Hdd's spin up...then the light goes out... No beeps, no monitor, nothing..
So I called the power company and put in a claim...they said if it was an act of God they wont do anything....How can it be an act of God if the weather was nice and sunny???
Anything else to look at on the machine???
This sux.....at least I got this machine up and running before this happened...

A squirrel jumped on a transformer and caused power at my house to surge about a year ago, thank the big guy upstairs my surge protectors saved my puters, but my 52" big screen was another story $218 later it was back to the norm and it's now also on a spike protector. Most of the surge protectors have a insurance policy with them if you had one you may want to check with them. And btw a squirrel on a transformer is considered an act of god |

Thats awesome. Sucks though
On another note, have you tried takeing everything out and putting it all back in one at a time? Taken a look inside to see if anything looks fried? (You know blackish brown, smells funky )

Check with your insurance co., I got a new VCR after a storm, and new CD and MB on another occasion, now that really is an act of God. Really the power co. should take responsibility, if it was their fault, what did they say caused it?

ALOHA
I just learned the difference between a $10 surge protector and a $50+ one.
The $50+ one saved my computer even as I was working and almost 200v flew through
and the $10 one didn't help my BigScreen even though it was turned OFF!
RadioShack got a $75 one on sale now for $40.I just picked one up
just in case I get my BigScreen working again.
The power company already covered themselves claiming my house had a problem~
however the first power guy came out said it was a pole problem.
