| product key help
Hi, I couldn't really determine where else to ask this question, so here goes. A while back I bought Microsoft Office Professional 2003, installed it in my computer and that was that. Since then, we've moved and I can't find my original disk. Someone told me that I could possibly get a replacement since I have already purchased my copy and registered it. I couldn't really understand where I would have to go to do it. Can anyone here help me or is there another way? Of all things, I saw this view product key on the internet and they claim that for $4.99 I would be able to see my number. Number 1, can this really work or is there someway else I can get my number without paying and can I really go back to Microsoft for a replacement disk or am I out of luck?
Thanks!

That get your product key online thing sounds like a real scam to me. You should be able to contact Microsoft and, since it's already registered, just give them some info like your name and such and they should cough up your product key (or give you a new one). I don't really know since I've never lossed my registration info before. If you have the software installed on your computer, you can use license detection software like Lavalys Everest ( http://lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en) to find the product key. |

I don't necessarily want to pay for it, but I don't know where else to turn. I just don't know if they are legit and they can actually help me find it. I went to Microsoft.com and they want something like $25 or $35 for tech support to ask questions. I don't know where else to turn right now and I am bummed to the max that I have lost it. I would have to search through so many boxes to try to find it right now and I may never find it. I paid over $130.00 for this disk and now this. I was hoping that maybe someone on Techimo could tell me how to find the numbers within my own computer.

I thought it sounded like a scam too, but right now I would gladly pay $4.95 to get that number, but I won't be hasty to use this until I have exhausted some other resources anyway.
Thanks!

It works for me on office XP Quote: |
It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Office 97, and Office XP. This version is a quick update to make it work with Windows Server 2003.
