Digital Cameras-Putting Pictures on?
I was wandering if there is a way to put pictures and .mov(The filetype my camera suports for video) onto my digital camera so when I have my camera I can show my friends funny pics/movies, and to show people screenshots from my games, ect. The camera shows up as a drive in My Computer, but when I put an image on there and try to preveiw it on my cameras LCD, it just says "INVALID FILE FORMAT". And yes I used the same extention and format as the other pictures on the camera. Any suggestions, thanks.

it's likely due to you not having the extension file that tells the computer what to expect there to be on the memory card.
For example, when you thumbnail pictures in Photoshop, it creates a file and updates that file accordingly to allow photoshop to work within that folder of pictures and make it easier to find all the files.this post contains small bits of intelligence culminating to the appearance of wisdom.

Ok, is there any way that I can make this work? There is another file for each picture, named like... .lcr or something, l something. I dont have time to check, but is that it, and how could I create one?

I would assume that that would be what I was talking about. I think you would need some kind of program that would allow you to backwards engineer your camera through software on the PC. Beyond that, try opening the .lcr file in notepad and see what it says...perhaps there is a way you can modify it in notepad and resave the .lcr file to match the one you are trying to upload.

Dude - here is the way you should gop about trying to do this.
Take a few pictures with your camera
Then connect the card to your PC
When you browse to the card look for the folders with the pictures you just took and place whatever pics or movies you want to bring with you in there.
That is exactly how I would try to trick my camera if I wanted to do that. Most cams create folders that have certain attributes where they store the pics and movie files. Placing your data in these folders should do it.
Good luck!

magicfreak32,
I have managed to do what you are talking about with a Nikon 995.
It would only work if I replaced a jpeg with one of the same name.
Try taking a mov & jpg. Use windows explorer to look at the memory card in the camera & note what the files are named. Rename a mov. and/or jpg file on your computer to the same as what is on the camera. Use windows explorer to replace files on camera with the renamed ones.
Good luck. No guarantees though.
Pete.
