the onboard usb's for my mobo all of a sudden do not work anymore, i recently bought another mobo (the same one Asus P4P800 SE) because the first time i plugged in my mp3 player to the front usb port my mouse disappeared and my computer started acting funny so i restarted then it said my usb items weren't functioning. Then i had to goto work and when i came back my computer didn't even come on, so i posted here and they said my mobo was fried or my processor... So i ordered another P4P800 SE and a new processor and everything seemed fine until a couple of days later i plugged my mp3 player again in the front and my monitor shut off forcing me to restart, so i did and now the new mobo is doing the same thing except it's not acting funny , it acts normal just the usb's are not working. What could this be and should i just by a usb hub PCI card to fix this, or would it?
thanks...in advance.

Why cant you just plug it into the back of the mobo? |

You have to use the disk for your mobo or visit the website to download USB drivers, each mobo has its own drivers for USB ports |

the usb's on the back aren't working as well as the front, So you think it's just the drivers, i hope it is, i have the disk which has the usb 2.0 drivers on it but i tried to install it and it says that windows xp will already install them. anyway i'll try them as soon as i get off of work. thanks if this doesn't work, would it be better just to get a pci usb 2.0 card? what about updating the bios? it's so weird they worked fine earlier...anyway thanks so far. nate

You might need to delete the old drivers to get windows to reinstall them. Goto device manager and delete them. |

Are you sure you've got the wires from the case connected to the proper mobo header pins in the proper order? Just asking.
