It might not apply to everyone but the Web Developer extension (new version here) is quite good. Even if you don't do web development it is still quite handy as it can reveal "hidden" passwords, show cookie info, destroy session cookies, clear the cache, load pages without images, etc. I dunno, I use it nearly every hour but then again I do make websites.

Another nifty one is the User Agent Switcher. It lets you broadcast your browser as something else, like Netscape, Opera, or IE. So for those sites that redirect you to another page beacuse you're not using IE (like the Microsoft website), you can now "trick" them.
Interestingly enough, all the Firefox extensions I use are general features in Opera.

For some odd reason I'm kind of problem-prone when it comes to software...FWIW I have only once visited the Firefox Support forums without coming away with an answer to a problem: there are 2,100 pages of questions from similarly gifted people!!!

A decent find, but nowhere as great as the former.

adblock - strips pages to the bare bones. GREAT!
and
bugmenot - keeps you from having to register to view the content of free websites.

I installed the auto copy extension, restarted Firefox...now every time I go to the extensions link and click one extension, I get this.
"Incompatible Extension or Extension No Longer Available"
What's going on? This is the first time I ever tried adding extensions. I'm running Firefox 1.0.

Martoch, look in the upper right corner and see if there's a blue or green (I don't remember the color but I think it was blue) arrow looking thing, click that. It'll update Firefox and all the installed extensions.
You might want to uninstall the autocopy extension. It's great when you want it but gets really annoying some times. I still have it installed on mine but it's been disabled for about 2 months.

Is there a new spellcheck that's compatible with 1.0? Everytime I try to DL one, it says it's not...

foxytunes,
adblock,
all in one gestures,
allow right click,
image zoom,
compact menu,
bug me not,
autofill,
card games,
download status bar,
and switchproxy tool (good for anonymous proxy switching)
other recomended ones: autocopy, webmail compose, word count, popup count, bandwidth tester, and translate.Legalize the Constitution. Ron Paul 2012.

I use switchproxy alot, but it is because about half my job is managing proxy servers. Makes testing much easier.

Bookmark Synchronizer!!!!
Anyone who uses more than one machine at home and/and or work needs this! Get a free account at tripod.com to post your bookmarks in an xml file. (No experience necessary!)
1. Just get an account.
2. Then install bookmark synchronizer in Firefox.
3. Restart Firefox
4. Open Bookmarks/Synchronize Bookmarks
5. Select the following options:
ftp
Host: ftp.tripod.com
User: [enter your tripod username]
Password: [password]
Path: Leave this alone
Local Bookmark Folder: Browse... and select Bookmarks Toolbar Folder.
6. VERY IMPORTANT! now UPLOAD!!! Do not try to sync before uploading first-It just will not work, and I've seen lots of posts of people crying that it doesn't work because they failed to do this.
It will now keep your bookmarks on this computer. Repeat these steps on all your computers and you will always have your bookmarks handy.
I recommend checking the auto download and auto upload optoins and unchecking the Merge data (If you delete a bookmark it will just put it back next time if you don't uncheck that)
