Windows Not Installing

I am trying to reinstall Windows XP on a AMD K7 475Mhz with 192MB of RAM. Sometimes when setting up it can't find a file while it is in the inital setup (DOS Setup) and sometimes it gets stuck in the Regualr Windows. I know this is a good CD but I dont know what is messing up. Its temps in the bios are 59 degrees. Can anyone tell me why this isnt installing.

Also, same thing happens when trying to install 2000 or 2003 Server Trial

hmm..one thing comes to mind....there used to be an issue on older AMDs etc where if it was over 350Mhz or so it needed a patch to install windows....but I cant remember the exact specifics (like how to install a patch BEFORE u install windows, lol)

perhaps u can try to clock it down to under 350mhz to install...see what happens

sometimes when this happens it is bad ram...or possibly a bad spot on the hard drive....u can run memtest86 for the ram and run a thorough scandisk on the drive to make sure it doesnt have a bad sector messing u up.

You can try erasing your hard disk, there is a program out there called killdisk that works real good. Just erase it then reformat and install.
