CPU running at 64C at boot?
My water cooler says the temp is 24 while the BIOS gives 64. Is it possible for the CPU to run at 64?
The water cooler sensor is placed rite next to the CPU so I'm really confused. I need some serious help rite now.
Thanks.

i would definitely check the connection from the cpu to the water cooler. 64 is quite high (though not necessarily automatically going to fry your cpu).

It's possible one of the sensors could be acting up or not in the correct area under the cpu.

Air bubble trapped in CPU's heat sink?

what cpu and motherboard? I've got an MSI K8N neo and while it's a great motherboard, i did have to update the bios to get it to report cpu temps properly

ya 80 is really really really pushing it, thats on the verge of destruction for the cpu, i would download all the latest bios drivers because thats most likely your problem especially since the water cooler is reading 24

2nd time: check for air bubbles in your watercooling system, especially in the heatsink platen.

I did try that. The water flows fine. Is there a chance that the BIOS sensor is mistaken? Because when I touch the water block on the CPU it feels cold, not even warm. And how do I update the BIOS to make sure that the temp is right?

have you even got the water block installed correctly?

Ok. I am really freaking out now. I just reposition the CPU block so its facing the opposite position and now the water cooler displays 78... The water still flows. Oh man I am so mad!!

try with the original air cooling back in place so you have a reference point.
