Abit, Asus, Gigabyte, and Sapphire are probably the best and will be as good (or better) than the actual ATI cards. Check Newegg for these cards.

I'd stick with Sapphire for the cost, but Abit, Asus, and Gigabyte are pretty good brands as well, but definitely one of the four....good luck...

well sometimes 3rd party companys increase the clock on the vid cards but usually not. just read about it before you buy it, they should all be the same

well, I don't know about for ATI, but my old video card, which is in my wife's system right now, is an XTasy Geforce 4 TI4200 that I had OCed in my system pretty well, don't remember exact numbers, but I remember that it was a better OC then most people with the same model card...I'd recommend Xtasy cards, but I'd suggest going with the previous recommendations first, if possible, as I don't have much experience with Xtasy aside from the one card..good luck...

I have an ASUS 9200se card and have not had any driver or performance issues with it. I'm waiting a little while to upgrade to something faster. Probably another ATI card.

The Sapphire and Xtasy are probably most popular as they have good price to performance ratios and, more importantly, they're often readily available at stores like CompUSA and BestBuy. The Abit, Asus, and Gigabyte cards are rarely found in-store.

ATI products are not hard to find, they are just as readily available as nVidia cards. Go to the website below and do a search for ATI, I bet there will be over 100 in the results, probably closer to the 500 range. ATI makes the GPU of the video card. They also make the actual cards, but the sell the chips that they make to other manufacturer's so that there can be an abundance of their cards on the market. Brand matters somewhat because of the quality of the components that other manufacturer's use, but either way, it's still an ATI core on that card if it's a Radeon...good luck, ttyl...

even when you think you're buying straight-up, you're really buying third-party
