    Laptop video settings

i have a M6805 laptop, i installed Windows Xp 64 bit, but always had problems since the video driver would suck, and i would only acheive a 1024 by 768 resoultion, even thou my screen native is 1280 by 800. so this website "techconnect.com" took the beta ATi 64-bit drivers, and they modded them.

techconnects drivers support my 1280 by 800. i installed them, and it works great. just one problem, when i restart the resolution gets messed up again, big time.

and when it messes up it doesnt change resolutions, it just distorts everthing on the page.
i thought this was really werid because, doesnt Windows "save your settings"?

i want it to stay 1280 by 800, but i cant for more than one start-up.

    Thanks in Advance!

Well remember your still playing with something that that the word Preview in it. It has been reported that many drivers dont work with the 64 bit OS. (and many are not released yet) Personally right now until they release the final product its a waste of time fighting with it.

Also with the laptop drivers, usually ati tells you to load the drivers from the manufacture website. Not to use Catalyst.

    oh, sounds like good advise.

on a side note, the only real 64-bit thing in XP 64 bit is the Internet Explorer, which has been retuned for it.

    thanks.
