we have an upgrade copy of windows 2000 here at work. i'm not sure when the last time it was used(at least not in the year i've been here) but the product key is missing from the box. everything is in there except that. if i were to call microsoft would they give us a replacement key and if so is there a special phone number to call for that?
i am having a little difficulty finding info on this on thier website, and was wondering if any of you have experienced this?
You could give Microsoft Anti Piracy a call 1 800 785 3448 and ask if they would give you a repacement product key. Mind you this is and old phone number and I haven't tried it in years.
Or try 1 800 microsoft.
Seeing that you still have the original CD shouldn't have too much trouble.
Bill, i don't have it installed on my pc. i'm not sure what computer it is installed on. and there are very few that actually still run 2000. most are upgraded to xp pro, or are still running 98.
