Perhaps you when you installed the program, you installed it "for this user only".

You may just want to try to reinstall the program under the user account you wish to use it for the most, or if you cannot due to administrative rights, then install it as administrator, but give permission for everyone to use it if it asks that question instead of "no, only me"

I got the "easy tv Capture" off ebay and was getting the Unkown Driver message as well, i used the below procedure a few times then it was installed with a picture( I used the software that came with my card after the driver install)... now, that was a bit confusing, but remember, dont ever go into the second steps directory after the reboot, just go back into the first step's directory and it did work for me....

I have no sound, I assume i need to hook the capture card into my sound cards input to get sound?... and need a special connection since my sound card has RCA in's and out's..???? I have the M-Audio 10/10LT

    1) Download these drivers and unzip, but don't install yet (Note the location of the unzipped foler):
    http://www.lifeview.com.tw/drivers/p.../Drv._3.25.zip

    2) Download the following application software and unzip, but don't install yet.
    http://www.lifeview.com.tw/drivers/p...me/TVR_325.zip

    3) Go to you Device Manager and uninstall your current drivers for the TV card. Also, uninstall the unknown device (will most likely have a yellow question mark beside it.)

    4) After uninstalling the drivers and unknown device, DO NOT restart your computer, or else the computer will just reinstall the crappy drivers.

    5) Immediately install the drivers from step (1). There is a setup console in there so you don't have to worry about installing them from the add hardware wizard. When you get the message that the drivers are not digitally signed, just continue anyways.

    6) Download software application from step (2).

    7) Restart computer. Upon restart, you'll probably get the found new hardware wizard popup as I did, with the hardware showing as an unknown device. Not to worry, just choose the option in the wizard, install drivers from a specific location, and browse and find the folder in which your unzipped drivers from step (1) are located. Just click on that folder and the wizard will update the drivers to install the unkown device which actuallly turns out to the WDM Generic TV Tuner.

Hopefully these steps will work with your card. PM me if any problems.

    Cheers!!!

I followed the steps, but it still couldnt find the drivers in the folder.

Paydirt!!! Searched about 30 pages deep into google and found these drivers: http://www.Sabrent.com/drivers/tvfm.zip Flawless install using windows installer. Give 'em a shot. Havent used device yet, but it is recognized in device manager. Keeping my fingers crossed.

A dedicated soundcard is a better option, the line in feature on a SAA7130 capture card is primitive, not always implemented on a driver level.
The quikstream recorder http://quikstream.com.au/download.htm for TV recording has many features for testing your video capture hardware.

Latency problems are also software (issues with enumeration of an audio and video codec). A bad combination of audio and video compressors for example. Real time video compression is CPU intensive, so a fast machine is required.

    Thumbs up

ZaraC my hero. I've spent nearly 12 months searching for drivers for my Easy TV Capture Card (7130). Now fully functioning thanks to your solution.
Despite the suppliers insistance that the drivers supplied would work with windows XP SP2, it never did. Could only use it with win98 on an old PC till now.
    Forever in your debt,

I also just yesterday bought a new TV card on Ebay. It is some no name card based on the Philips 7130 chipset. It came with a remote and an installation CD that contained drivers and WinDVR. As experienced by nearly eveyone else, the installation could not find the drivers on the CD even when I tried to force it. I contacted the seller and of course they pretended to not know of any problem. In short they were worthless. I followed the instructions given by ZARAC above and sure enough.....SUCCESS. The drivers installed, the TVR software worked and so did the WINDVR software. Even the remote works (although I found sometimes I have to press a button on it several times. Picture quality and sound are fine. Thank you ZARAC and thanks to LIFEVIEW for providing working drivers and software.

Turn your monitor upside down.....(just kidding!)
My guess is there is something wrong with your input. Plug it into a Tv and see if it works correctly.

All of you should really figure out who made your card, and get the original software for it.
Device Manager - Details - Hardware ID is the first hint as to who made it and what is it.
Write it down, post it here. I'll help.

    Hi.

I got the card from ebay and the only information i have is the following:

This 7130 TV CAPTURE CARD uses a PHILIPS 7130 chipset, enabling you to watch TV programs (either Cable TV or Wireless TV) on PC and the receivable channel number is up to 110 also .

The drivers he sent do not work....

if you can make it work correctly i will be very happy!!!

    Thanks

That isn't what we're looking for.

Go there to Device Manager. Right click on the SAA7130 card (either entry) and choose Properties. Click on the Details tab, and in that drop-down menu choose Hardware Ids. Post that.
