Don't trust the batteries that came with the card. Buy new AAA's, hook up the weird looking cable, point the small hole towards you and good luck!
Oh, and make sure remote.exe is running in your task bar if that doesn't work |

| SAA7130 TV Tuner Not working
ZARAC
I have read through the posts, and my card is still not working properly. I purchased a card off ebay and I believe it to be the phillips SAA7130HL chipset (or at least that is what the chip on the PCI card says).
I uninstalled all previous drivers/ software.... and...
I followed the instructions to install the lifeview driver (Windows Hardware Wizardwas popping up displays in the lower corner of my screen), then I installed the software, then rebooted.
Upon the reboot windowsXP asks for the driver, I select the folder with the lifeview driver, and when I select it,.... it doesn't show up at "WDM Generic TV Tuner." ... but something like LifeView TV Tuner.... which I don't think matters.
Everything succesfully installs.... then.....
I opened the TVR software, and I chose autoscan air (since I am using an antenea), and I am not getting any picture or sound on the screen.
Can Anyone help me? |

Have you tried to reboot again, since this post? It seems to be crummy drivers that need a couple of reboots to get everything registered properly for some reason. You may want to reinstall the TVR software, or try a generic TV software program and see if it will bring up the channels.
Also, you need to make sure that you have the proper input selected.
Remember to post what you have and haven't done when asking for help, and first and foremost K.I.S.S. ( keep it simple, stupid ) |

1. I have TVR and WinDVR and neither are displaying channels. ...
I am not even getting the static fuss, I am seeing a blank screen.
2. Under my device manager, I see Lifeview FlyTV Prime 30 and Lifeview WDM TV Tuner...... is this right?
3. In the WinDVR, when I start the program, it says "cannot get device" in a msgbox. I do not get this error in TVR....could this be why I don't get the channels?
Thanks |

1) Download these drivers and unzip, but don't install yet (Note the location of the unzipped foler): http://www.lifeview.com.tw/drivers/p.../Drv._3.25.zip
2) Download the following application software and unzip, but don't install yet. http://www.lifeview.com.tw/drivers/p...me/TVR_325.zip
3) Go to you Device Manager and uninstall your current drivers for the TV card. Also, uninstall the unknown device (will most likely have a yellow question mark beside it.)
4) After uninstalling the drivers and unknown device, DO NOT restart your computer, or else the computer will just reinstall the crappy drivers.
5) Immediately install the drivers from step (1). There is a setup console in there so you don't have to worry about installing them from the add hardware wizard. When you get the message that the drivers are not digitally signed, just continue anyways.
6) Download software application from step (2).
7) Restart computer. Upon restart, you'll probably get the found new hardware wizard popup as I did, with the hardware showing as an unknown device. Not to worry, just choose the option in the wizard, install drivers from a specific location, and browse and find the folder in which your unzipped drivers from step (1) are located. Just click on that folder and the wizard will update the drivers to install the unkown device which actuallly turns out to the WDM Generic TV Tuner.
Hopefully these steps will work with your card. PM me if any problems.
Cheers!!! |
Have you tried these steps yet? You may just have to start over and reinstall everything. These cards/chipsets are real finicky about how everything is installed...kinda like some of the ATI video cards I've installed in the past. If you don't follow the directions to the "T", you'll have problems. |

I have followed these instructions to the "t" about 5 times now, and I still cannot get the darn channels to show up. I am guessing that :
6) Download software application from step (2).
means install the software.... since in step 2 in was downloaded?
Is the Windows Media HArdware wizard supposed to pop up when I run the EXE installer for the drivers? |

Are you able to select either 'air' or 'cable' for your input selection for the card in the TVR software settings? |

I have selected "air"
On the autoscan, nothing shows up, not even static.
Is there any type of graphic chip requirement? My CPU isn't that good... but from what I know it is a Via 694X Chipset and an Intel Pentium (R) III Processor motherboard.... does this help explain anything? |

IF you have cable, hook it up to cable. It probably won't work with Air unless you have a cable attatched to the card to some sort of remote antenae. |
