Have a Dell Inspiron 1100, and driver is not recognizing cds or dvds..
I have a dell inspiron 1100 laptop and it wont recognize my cds or dvds.
im not sure where to put this problem so i put it here.
but anyways, i have tried everything that dell has on support, other then calling the people. Im ready to take the driver from my other dell inspiron 1100 (which isnt workin cuz i spilled pepsi on it), and put it in this one.
so unless someone could assist me on how to get this cd drive to work, could someone tell me how to get the cd drive out and in, and what i need to do after that (in terms of installation, unistallation)

Welcome to the forum!
yeah, try the cd drive from the other one....I am pretty sure if you look on the back of the laptop you will figure out ho to get the drive out..usually there are a coupel of screws or maybe a latch of some sort.....then just pull it out
there is no "installation" process...you just plug the new one in
there are instructions on Dells site for each laptop....usually you go to "support" and then put in the name of the laptop and the manual will be under "downloads"

Ouch, idle temp is way too high. Should be idle around 30-45c Top temps at load should be 80-85, anything more than 90 and its running hotter than it should. Make sure the case fans are...
