    Compaq 2100 Laptop Constant Freeze/lock up

     
    Hey everyone,

    For a few months now I have been having a problem wth my laptop. It is a compaq 2100US AMD edition. The problem is that it constantly locks up. The screen is on but the mouse cant move and no keys will work. I have reformatted the hard drive and installed a fresh copy of windows xp profesional and the problem remains. If anyone can give me some advice I would really appreciate it.

    What are the CPU temps? If the fan went out then that thing's gonna overheat real quick.
