| BF2 crashes to desktop all the time at random... Anyone else getting this?
Well, here's my specs:
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
AMD XP 3000+
1gig of RAM
Plus I just did a fresh format, and reinstalled all the latest drivers for all my devices. Here's the thing:
My game crashes all the time at random, but usually within 10 minutes of playing. I even set my graphics to medium and low just incase I was exhausting the system, but with no luck. The game still crashes to my desktop without warning?
Anyone have a remedy for this?

If you have any USB stuff hooked up, un hook it for now and see if that helps.

The only USB device I have in right now if my mouse. And my temps are fine I think. My temp monitor that's built into my Thermaltake aren't reading anything abnormal. |

Download a program like speedfan and check your temps that way

In line with the temperature questions, have you cleaned out the fans recently? It really sounds like something is getting a little toasty and causing the game to crash.

Heat, memory errors and drivers are generally the main causes of a CTD, assuming of course nothing is overclocked.
You said you've updated to the latest drivers, i'm assuming this includes video, audio and chipset drivers? Next step is to make sure your temps are in check, if temps are ok, then time to see if its a memory issue. |

Bad power supplies will also cause random crashing. |

Ok, first have a small house fan blow into your case without the side panel on, and see if it still happens...
Next, if the above doesn't help, try running it with one stick of ram at a time, and see if one of them makes it crash more often.
If that doesn't help, check the power supply...if you have a multimeter, you should test the volts, and see how much power you are getting(ask someone for more help on this, I have never tried it myself)
