Pictures only open with Windows Paint...
Some how all my pictures only open with MS Paint.... I went into Tools, files and tried to look for GIF, JPG, JPEG etc to change the "Open with" extension but it doesn't even show those files to change.....

Hmmm... have you tried Right clicking on the file, go to properties and from there selecting what program will open the file?If you can't say something nice... SAY IT REALLY LOUD!!

I can do that but it won't save it. I can view the file for that one time but once I go to open up again it opens in MS Paint.

How about adding the file type then associating the program you want to open it with?

right click--open with--choose program--then check the box that says "always use this prog to open this type of file

If using that box doesn't work like Doddsy suggested:
Right click on the file (you'll have to do this for each file type) > properties > under "file type:" there is "opens with:" and to the right of that, click the "change" button and then select the program.

I googled and found this fix:
Run regedit Change the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SystemFileAsso ciations\image\shell\edit\command to be the photoeditor you prefer. For example, I changed mine from "%systemroot%\system32\mspaint.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PhotoEd\Photoed.exe" "%1" close regedit. If you can't say something nice... SAY IT REALLY LOUD!!

I had the same problem and found that the following helped (Windows 7):
Went to Start Button and searched for ''Windows Live Photo Gallery''
when opening up this programme an automatic prompt appeared saying something like:
Do you want to open ALL JPG/BMP..... etc... etc files in this programme?
I said yes and now all pictures are shown in WLP Gallery.
