Why get an 80 gig HDD for 60 when you can get a 160 gig for 60?
Also, I don't know about that case... Usually cases with crappy airflow+generic PSU's=early deaths

they have 160's for the same price? I didn't know. Is the Cache size and the write speed the same?
Yea I have been a bit wearisome about the case. A cheap case with enough places to place fans is what I am looking for but Newegg only displays if a case comes with fans or not, not how many fan place holders it has. |

Everything looks great except two things,
Firstly, the power supply that comes with cases are CRAP. Like posted above they can lead to component damage and an overall early death to the system. Pick up a nice brand psu from a company such as Enermax, Antec.. and so on. There is a power supply info sticky so you should check that out it will help you out a lot.
Secondly, DO NOT go with a plain 6600, for that price you can get a nice 9800pro that will smoke that 6600, even though the 9800pro is getting old now, it is still a great card for the price.

I have been battling over the 9800 pro and the 6600, most people I am speaking to say to get a 6600 over IRC and on the tech forum at Starmen.net . Also the motherboard I want specifies PCI-E*16.
Just noticed that the model I picked was not exactly what I wanted. Most of the 6600's outdo the 9800 Pro, however they are signifigantly more expensive.
Any specific cases you could recommend? for airflow?

ThermalTake makes nice cases. Anything with lots of fans, preferably 120mm's. One 120mm fan is equivellant to 2 80mm's so if you can find some 120's then you're good to go. |

Welcome to TechIMO!
A few things...
First of all, I do not like the case, it looks kinda flimsy.
Next, the vid card, for a little more get a 6600 GT, it is much faster than the 6600.
Lastly, the hdd, look around for deals on them, you can probably get a 160gb drive for less than $50 if you can wait a week or two.
Other than that, your comp looks like it will be pretty nice! |

Well I realized the case was bad and I am currently trying to find a case with some slots for 120mm fans so I can just install them myself. However newegg only lists if a fan comes with the case but does not list if the case has spaces for 120mm fans or not.
I have currently switched to this video card:
Cost: $164.00
Leadtek PX6600GT TDH Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814122201
Right now the price has gone over what I expected,... hopefully I can figure out what I need to do.
Thanks everyone, I will keep posting as I progress. |

That gfx card looks much better! |
