What version of Limewire do you have?
I haven't had any problems, and I always have fast good connections. 50k +

It works fine for me other than being flooded with bad files and infected files.

Limewire has always worked for me - no issues. Unlike Emule, Edonkey, Kazaa, Etc.. I have experienced a MUCH lower rate of purposely infected/altered files using Limewire. If you are dumb enough to blindly download and install anything over the internet you are begging to be exploited - ALWAYS scan your downloads.
