As long as you get a s939 mobo with PCI-e, you should be all set as far as upgradability goes
I would go with the second mobo because it has a better chipset, NF4SLI, nvidia has always made the best chipsets for AMD processors, maybe not always, but probably ever since the nforce series.
As far as the video card goes, it sucks, it's way too overpriced, I would highly recommend spending an extra 20 bucks on an x800xl, this is an excellent model with a passive heatsink. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125174
As far as the HDD goes, I would highly recommend a Hitachi SATA drive.
DVD burner, wow, I had no idea they came so cheap these days
As far as the RAM goes, for the things you mentioned, 1GB of RAM is a must.

See, I told you Hitachi is an awsome brand
240-pin RAM is DDR2 RAM which is only compatible with LGA 775 CPUs at this moment.
As far as that RAM goes, it has pretty bad timings....
Do you plan to OC? If not, then I would recommend this Corsair Value Select RAM instead of that OCZ Premier Value http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145440 |

I would actually recommend this x800xl instead of that Gigabyte, HIS is one of the best ATI card manufacturer's they have the best stock heatsink fans that run whisper silent... If you're planning to OC your video card, then that Gigabyte would be a pretty bad choice, HIS would be the best choice. Take a look at the gaming bundles, maybe that will help you decide http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161141 |

I thought about this one for a little bit and I really think the Gigabyte will be what I go with. I don't really plan on OC my card. The gigabyte at OpenGL 2.0 and I don't quite know why the HIS card doesn't.
Thanks though for providing those options though, you've been a great help. |
