so have the "ratings" of the amd processors just gotten way out of accuracy? I see similarly priced laptops with "4000+" ratings with just over 2 ghz on the pentiums.
I am looking for a laptop that is as light as possible (5 pounds maybe) that would be able to play WoW at minimum settings. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I don't know anyone who plays wow on a laptop so i don't really know what specs are necessary. |

what you need to do is look for a laptop with a good graphics chipset on it. Like the ati mobility line of graphics chips for laptops. but, you may find it hard to get one for under 5lbs. Acer has some that are around 6 pounds. nVidia also has a line of graphics processors for laptops.
try going to www.newegg.com to find what you are looking for. how much do you want to spend?

Does the school have any standard requirements, like XP Pro or wireless? |

Dell's Inspiron 6000 can be set up with the ATi X300 mobile and has a 15.4" screen. It's a little over 5lbs, 5.6 I believe. Configured with 512MB of RAM, it should be able to handle WoW at low settings. With the 35% off coupon Dell has right now, you could get it for right around $1,000.
Heck my old IBM R41 could handle WoW at low settings.
Not _well_ mind you, but it worked. |

It is intergrated but i played CS:Source on medium settings on a athlon xp 2600 desktop. Best graphics from intel imo. It should be able to play WOW. low setting.
