I don't think that 2.4 will work with that mobo, at least according to Foxconn.
They don't have a 2.66 and the 2.8 is pushing it in price.
Thanks again for all the help. |

I've edited my initial post, and I have three questions:
1) What kind of power will this need? I'm thinking at least 350W.
2) Will the 6600 get 'er done?
3) Would this retail 2800+ be worth an extra twenty-two bucks? Or, should I go for a 6600GT instead?
EDIT: Actually, with a 6600GT, it would be $362.28 with shipping.

for power supply.... cheapest...
This COULD be a pricing mistake...
Dual +12V rails...
Fortron source consistently UNDERATES their PSU's...
a 300W Fortron is more equal to a 350W other brand...
Anyone wanting a solid budget unit should jump on this NOW! |

It's an old eMachines case from around 2000. I'll take some measurments and compare them with the specs. I'm not even 100% sure that it's MicroATX, but it looks small enough to be.
I'm going to try and convince him to get a cheap MicroATX case. |

why buy another MicroATX case...
those Emachines are standard ATX PSU's and use a MATX board... (to my knowledge)
Just use that and just get a MATX mobo...
Those cases arent actually bad... you could mod it fairly nicely...
