    Post Freezing problem

    hi all,

I'm working on a friends computer that freezes about 30 secounds after boot up,but then "unfreezes" after about 5 minutes (werid)
I have scaned countless times for spyware-viris,etc, and come up with nothing.
In safe mode however, the computer runs fine.

I've also checked the temps with Everest Home Ed,but it does not display
the temps for the cpu.And on top of that, the bios doesn't show the temps either!

    Specs: xp pro sp2
    384mb of ram
    pIII 598mhz
    25 gb hdd

    Any help would be AWESOME!

    THANKS

it is not overheating? hmmm wow ummmm have you checked device manager for and big yellow ! case to me it sonds like a driver issue or a process that takes al of the computers cpu loads up at that time i think you should look t the task manger and look for and proceses that take a lot of cpu or a new process that takes up 100% of the cpu also look for devices not working. hope that helps plz tell me what you see.

next time post dont edit it helps us keep along . what i mean is have you replaced ram with diffrent ram and switched grafix card etc? and if so it really sounds like a process that is takeing a lot cpu.

well first off,I don't think that it is the video card,or ram
simply because if it was over heating,it would freeze totaly,

I've had experience with that before.
so that leaves a process that's takeing up all the mem,or cpu,

but I don't think that is it either because I've used "tune up utilites 2006"
to see what's in the startup in windows and there is nothing.
