Kill Disk Not Working
ok...i just built a computer for my friend but we are using his IDE hard drive out of his old computer....i made a kill disk bootable floppy and powered up the computer...everything works right but when i put in the floppy and restart kill disk stuff never goes....
it just keeps trying to boot the old copy of windows to the last know good configuration.....
I made sure the floppy was the first bootable drive.
what could be the problem??Macbook Pro 15"

Can the floppy drive read other disks?
Have you tried booting from another boot disk then running Killdisk?

No need for a floppy, killdisk is on the Ultimate Boot CD so boot with CD and look under disk utilities.
You can't get there from here

labl, see if this method will work for you.
Download the Win98SE OEM bootdisk here: http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
Put a blank floppy into the drive and run the bootdisk program. It will make a boot disk for you.
Change your BIOS to boot floppy first and boot from the disk. Once you are at the A:\ prompt remove the bootdisk and insert the killdisk. Type in killdisk at the A:\ prompt.
See if kill disk will run this way.

still nothing works.
the guy who im building it for ordered a new SATA 80GB drive...im hoping that will work when he gets it but still...id rather this hard drive work as well.......
anyways.....going to try the bootdisk thing....
also....could it possibly need a BIOS flash?Macbook Pro 15"

If you're gonna make a point of asking for documentation that's one click away, you really shouldn't sneer at someone who does it for you.
