getting lag. what do i do.

hello.
I was all giddy over the new bf2 expansion.
The only thing is it doesnt work all that well.
It takes 4 minutes to load a game, which i can live with,
but the game feels laggy. not net laggy, but my computer must suck laggy.
Heres my specs.

p4 HT 2.8 gig, 1.5 gig ram(2 x 512mg 333mhz, 1 x 1gig 400mhz), and an ATI 9600SE.

now i know my vid card is like your grandmother of video cards.
so is that what is causing this lag?

and how important is the speed of your ram. is it almost as important as how much total ram you have?

i could theoretically pick up a 6600gt for x-mas...
but my mobo is AGP .

and i dont want to spend like 1000$ getting a new mobo.. yada yada...

but would my system with a 6600gt and lets say a total of 2gigs of RAM do the trick? and will it last me atleast a year? i wont be able to SLi the agp card, so i will be somewhat stuck with it afterwards.

what would the most economical and easy solution to my woes?

and finally, how can i free up even more system resources.

i got all the user applications, but under system theres a whole lot of items, many of which are the same name as the user item (eg: itunes helper.exe) also there are multiple svchost.exe applications going on.

how can i free up space on my system to make it fully dedicated to bf2?

ummm......... you definately need to describe your problem just a little bit more... maybe tell us some system specs and what kind of problem your having, what stuff is running etc...

yah we need more detail. Are you lagging in games? movies? a program running slow?

Please tell us what you're using so we can help you. Also provide us with the specifications of your PC if you can.
