| Dell Dimension 4300 casing
Does anyone know if a Dimension 8300 casing is compatiable with the Dimension 4300? I have a 4300 that works great but just need a new casing exterior panels. I can buy an 8300 casing on ebay but not sure it will fit my 4300. |

Its not the computer model you need to worry about, its the board size factor. As in, if the 8300 case is an ATX case, you can pretty much fit any board you want and smaller. ATX and micro-ATX are common board factors used in prebuilt machine cases.

Welcome to TechIMO!
It should be compatible...what is wrong with the case you have now? |

No, the 4300 is an older model. I believe it's the same clamshell case as the 4550. Might also work in an 8200 case. |

That is, if the boards can fit.
Figure out the board factors they support! Including your current case's! |

The clam shell casing is fine. What I need to replace is the exterior panels (skin). I just have a exposed casing right now. I was hoping the 8300 exterior panels would work. Not interested in switching the components out. |

As I said, this case is not the same as the 8300. |

Ya, see if you can find a 8200...or a 4550 first. |
