    question about this OC (5-6ghz)

     
    so i found this guy who oc'ed his computer to 5 ghz. heres a screeny:

    as you guys can note, the multiplier is 14 so the multiplier is not on default, because default should be 17.

    My question is if he sets the multiplier to 17, would he get 6093.14 ghz? or it would just not be possible.

    With subzero cooling and lots of tweaking and attention to detail it could be possible. I'm not really up on the limits of unrealistic overclocking though.

    u cant just change the multiplier and get a higher OC...

    it probably wouldnt boot at such a high speed.. more speed = higher voltage = more heat

    but imho 6ghz is pushing the limit a bit...

    Multiple processors and an chipset that can make good use of them at the hardware level are what they should be worrying about... there's limits on how fast they can make a single processor with the process they use now.
