| Intel Core Duo 2.0 Benchmarks VS. Dual Core Pentiums?
I googled to find some benchmark results for the new Apple Intel Core Duo 2.0 processor VS. and AMD or Pentium. My google skills may be lacking as I was not able to find an article. Perhaps on of you has found something or can point me in a direction? I am very curious. Thanks.

The 2.0GHz Core Duo processer appears to be ROUGHLY equal to
an AMD Athlon64 FX dual-core CPU running at the same clock speed,
though the AMD is still generally a bit faster at some multimedia
and gaming functions.
Of course, the Core Duo is suitable as a mobile CPU, so until AMD
comes out w/ a dual-core Turion, it's hard to make more direct
comparisons.

Ooops! I meant Athlon64 X2 CPU, not FX, even though the highest
end FX's ARE dual-core! Also, the Core Duo runs at about 1/3 the
wattage of the X2/FX chips (31W vs 89-110W).

Yes, KGN, the newest FX, the FX-60 is dual core and clocked @ 2.6ghz. So basically a dual core FX-55

Core Duo 2.0? Is that a new one, or is it the same as what they have had out for a while? |
