| New gaming/Video editing PC
Hey guys, now I might be able to fully build my new PC that I had been planning to build for months. Turns out that Adobe Premier Elements needs a Athlon 64 CPU. So, I think I shall join the PCI-E bandwagon, and probably build this PC soon, or wait for M2. So, I would use my old case, Hard Drive, Windows, RAM, and DVD-RW drive. This will also be used as a gaming PC, so a good videocard is a must. Would this be a good setup- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103535
Athlon 64 3200+ $160
PSU FSP 450 watt- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954
Motherboard choices- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128268 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130491
Might do minor OC'ing, if at all. Looking for stability, not speed.
Need some help on the videocard, need the one that'll be the fastest- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131425 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127201 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102620 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102651 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102653
Total-$470, also will 160 GB's of Hard drive space be enough? Will use my old components as a back up PC [probably], mainly as a Word processor.
As I said, I don't know when this PC will be built. Hopefully, soon. |

I would suggest getting a dual core processor if you can afford it but I also need to check if elements will use the second core but I think its a good idea to have it on a new system either way. |

Wait for the new socket from amd, they comming out around in april, with new processors and everything, prices will drop on the 939 socket dual cores too around that time.
And all the new processors from AMD will now on be dual core.

I think I'll wait, for the Dual Core to go down. Hopefully I will be able to afford one. However, which videocard should I go with? From the ones I showed. |

I need to build this computer sooner than I expected, as in a week. Which videocard is best? |

Well, I would really suggest on getting a X2 3800+...if you do a lot of video editing, it should only take half as long for the cpu to do it's job...
And for a graphics card...the 6800 GS... |

We're talking budget here, not to mention I don't care too much on how long it takes for video editing, as I wouldn't use video editing too much.
Not to mention the 3800+ costs $300+, vs. $160.
As for videocards, the 6800GS is $80 more, vs. $119 for a x800GT.
So, which would be better, the x800GT or the x1600PRO 256/512 MB card, or the x1600XT? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102644 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127201 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102651 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102653 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102657 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150118
That's the 2nd cheapest 6800GS, at $199.
Also, which motherboard should I get, will not overclock much, looking for stability. |
