BEST ANTIVIRUS
Now I've looked at a lot of articles latley and have found nothing. They all go around in circles.
Here is what I think are the top but cant seem to find which is the best.
Avast
AVG
Microsoft Onecare
PC cillin
Dont even think that norton and Mcafee are even worth a look.
I use onecare now with AVG and onecare is nice cause its fast to find the virus and give you an alert and even scans java and finds them. PCcillin is also there cause some gave that a great vote.
Now i know i will get a lot of avast fans giving one word answers but why ??
what makes it better than the others and why. ????
Any ideas and comments on this ??MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum / A64X2 4800+ Toledo(Stock)
7900GTX 698mhz / 2GB Corsairs XMS PRO Dual
Hitachi SATA II (2x 250GB, 1x 500GB)
ASUS G1

I now use AVG, but when I tried Avast, it actually had less system resources and more features that I liked. Then it made my computer crash.
I fixed the problem and put AVG on instead as it was second best, imo.Intel Core i7-860 OCed to 4.0GHz | ASUS P7P55D-E | G.Skill 8192MB (4x2048MB) RAM | MSI GTX 280 | 2x Seagate 160GB 7200.11 RAID 0

I love ewido, i use it when others fail and it almost always gets everything, can run in safemode unlike some scanners and does both virus's and spyware. use it at work on really tough infections.
At home i use AVG and my brain, havent gotten anything to speak of forever.

Trend/PC-cillin gets my vote . . .
I run between 18 and 25 computers at home (24x7), have 3 teenage kids, and a wife that like to click on everything.
With Trend Internet Security, I haven't had to clean anything in so-o-o long, I'm starting to wonder if I'll know what to do if something slips by.

i like avg because it uses less resource. I used avast as well but uses more resources. also i love onecare because it has nice scanner, easy user interface, and works well with MS WINDOWS. I still get mixed reviews, I guess no know will know 100%
for now i use avg and onecare and ones in a while do a scan with counter-spy.MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum / A64X2 4800+ Toledo(Stock)

AVG for me
I've used a number of applications over the years - mostly OEM or extended trials, but I now use AVG - it's free, takes few resources has regular, almost daily updates that don't take ages to download and I've had no virus problems since installing about a year ago.
Good luck

I can' t compare as i only use Avast, but I've got to recommend it - it does everything i need with minimal resources, and needs no user interaction once set up - perfect. I've not had a virus on any machine that i use (and i use shareaza quite a lot, but not for many executables) in years.

I use norton corporate on my network, based from a server, very reliable and touch wood will continue to offer me and my other network users good protection.

I prefer Avast over AVG for three reasons...from recent articles I've read, it's had a higher detection rate than AVG. Also, it has the ability to perform a boot-scan of your entire system...last time I checked, AVG didn't have that capability. Finally, that little spinning blue circle is soooo cute! Sometimes I think it's spinning around because it's so happy to be protecting my computer.

I was an Avast fan recently until I downloaded a small .zip file from the net. The file looked supicious so I scanned the contents with Avast and found nothing. I still didn't feel comfortable opening it so I used this oportunity to see how good/bad Avast was in this situation. I then used Kaspersky's online virus scanner and scanned the .zip file again. Kaspersky found 4 different virus files located inside of that .zip file.
This was done with both AVs having updated defs. This is only one case, but I decided to drop Avast and buy Kaspersky. My happiness in life comes from Jesus ;)

I like Sophos it was reccomended by my cousin who does something somewhere in the I.T. world, he said his company uses it. Anyhow it found 6 viruses that norton 2004 (up to date) missed.
Long story short whatever you choose dont choose norton.
I hear AVG is the best, but Sophos is my choice.

you can google AV Music Morpher Gold from Audio4fun, it allows you to cut, paste, mix songs and add other effects as well! A cool software that I'm using at the moment! Hope it helps!
