Ok, heres the story, yesterday i bought a new case and was transfering all my shit over and apparently in the processes my onboard sound stopped working. Correction, half stopped working
On the restart up after relizing the only sound i was getting was what sounded like blowing wind at random times, the sound worked perfectly, and i thought it was fixed
now upon a few restarts later it is still broken, I cant describe the sound other than random spurts of noise that sound if wind is blowing.
can anyone tell me how or why this is happening and how to fix?

sounds too simple but double check that the speakers are plugged in all the way...that sounds alot like what happens when it is halfway out
see what happens when you twist the cable around sometimes when they start to go bad you need to get them in the right position for proper connection

It would be a good idea to try another set of speakers or headphones to rule out the speakers currently connected as the problem. I would also start looking for another sound card. Decent sound cards can be had for little investment. |

Are you using front audio ports or the rears?
If you're using the rears, double check that you've got shorting jumpers to connect BackOut-L to AudioOut-L and BackOut-R to AudioOut-R.
If you're using front connectors, double check that they're going to the correct pins (AudioOut-L, AudioOut-R, and Ground) |
