Can someplease please bfiefly explain the Opteron setups?

Hi

What's the whole deal with the Opteron 100, 200, and 800 series. Is it 100 for 1 cpu, 200 for 2 cpus, and 800 for more than 2 cpus in a mobo?

And what's the deal with the workstaion (4way) and Server (8way). Doea this mean that if I want a workstation model, I can have up to 4 800 series cpus, and if I want more, I have to go to a server model? What's the difference between a server and worstation model?

You can i believe use use any of those CPU's in a workstation, but im not sure if intel doesn't do better at workstation tasks(the xeons at 3ghz seem to be good for that).

However, as for servers and how many ways it can go...i really don't have a clue. However the ammount of CPU's seems to depend on your motherboard and how many CPU's it can support.
