I recently was cleaning off my friends processor and replacing the stock heatsink and putting on new thermal paste when I discovered a little perfectly cut hole in the processor.... is this supposed to be there or somethin? I dont think i caused it b/c all I did was rub off the compound and it was there all perfectly cut and whatnot....
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 ghz
CPUID: Prescott
anyone ever heard of n e thing like this? |

I think Intel used to stamp their test CPU's with a hole like that, but dunno if that model all came with a hole bored in them or not.
Ray's suggestion is the best one so far, though!
