How do you know what wattage your 4400+ X2 is?

Hi

I'm looking at buying an X2 4400+, and I just read somewhere that there are two different models out there with two different wattages.

A) how do you know which is which when you're buying?

b) is there a performance difference, or is it purely an environmental energy difference?

Thanks!

Shaun

http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desktop/Default.aspx tells all. One model is 110watts
while the other is at 89watts. Both operate at 2.2gb. The model id number is what is used
when ordering when there are two of the same model numbers listed. The detailed specs on the 110w model are seen at: http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desk...=ADA4400DAA6CD
The specifications on the 89w model can be seen at: http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desk...=ADV4400DAA6CD

You will note that the 110w model has a max temperature limit of 65C while the 89w model
has a 71C max operating temperature. The specs along with the ordering numbers for the 89w model are:

Processor AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core
Model 4400+
Ordering P/N (Tray) ADV4400DAA6CD
Ordering P/N (PIB) ADA4400CDBOX
Operating Mode 32/64

Wow.. that is something I didn't know. I just bought a X2 3800+ ..

does it apply to this cpu as well?

edit: I checked out the page: COOL anyways and good find.

both 89w for the 3800+ no wonder its a great overclocker.

AMD readily provides detailed information on their processors without hesitation. But, you
do have to get adjusted to their methods for finding the right pages by clicking on the right
links there. For the 3800+ you can go to: http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desk...=ADA3800DAA5CD
The next build here will be looking at the 4800+ while someone locally is building a new rig
with the same model cpu you just purchased. Remember to watch the temps closely since a
line of cpus seems to have a lower max temp then the older 32bit model cpus.
