Despite the propaganda about which format is superior, the fact remains both sides are running a business with costs that have to be addressed. The tooling costs for Blu Ray are significantly higher than for HD DVD.

Smaller studios and less watched movies might not be able to afford to be pressed onto Blu Ray because of its high costs. Subcontractors won't be able to afford to take a Blu Ray contract!
