    Reformatting(Completely Erase your Drive)

Is it true that reformatting does not completely erase your hard drive? If so how do you do it?

Reformating doesn't completely erase your harddrive...if you are throwing the drive out anyways, just smash it with a hammer...if you need it cleaned out for some reason...I think Ultimate Boot Disk does it...
(google Ultimate boot disk...you'll find it)

If you are worried that someone might recover your data use killdisk to wipe the drive. After using killdisk you will nedd to partition and format the drive to use it again.

To do a better job at reformating use killdisk, that will write 0 to the whole drive and then you can format.
