IDE -> SATA Converter

Has anybody tried one of these?

I need a dvd burner for my box, and I dont want some clunky IDE cable.
I'd love to get a sata dvd burner, but there is only one.
114 bucks, and its got shady reviews on newegg so dont want to jump into that.

Curious if anybody else has tried one of them?
(yes I can read reviews, but wanted to see if anybody here has one)

I'll just get a rounded IDE cable if I have to, but sata would be great!

yea i got one with the purchase of my Abit Nf7 mobo... never used it until recently with my new comp (in the sig) i got a great deal on a 160gb HD from staples, but it was IDE so i wanted to try to "make" it SATA... it worked fine, the one i have takes its own power source (the little connector used for the floppy's power)

Never had any problems thus far, no installation needed either
