| Upgrade laptop from 256MB RAM to 512MB RAM?
Would it be worth it for my mom to throw down 40 bucks for a 512 stick of ram for her laptop or should she not even bother- or should she go for a gig? (I doubt I'll be able to convince her though, I'm mostly going for the 512)

Yes...most laptops will come with 2 slots with 1 used for the 256. Add the 512 to what you already have and her machine will run so much more efficiently...like adding Octane to your cars gas tank!!
