The home page can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/Windowsvista/ There is supposed to be two different versions of both the Home and Pro editions. Supposedly those will be the basic and premium versions. |

Supposedly from what has been heard lately there's a review on the beta suggesting it can be up to par with Linux and Apple/Mac. How the final version measues up will be another topic there. |

That was a question here too. It now will be coming on dvd as well as cd and one review is stating that it installs easier then XP. |

Well, I've tried it since PDC 03 I think. They handed out build 4051, that build was good, but it took a whole day to install on my laptop. Now, the newest build released on Microsoft Connect which was 5365, installs much quicker, it is getting faster than XP.

No I haven't tried it as of yet. The article read referred to the 4074 and 5048 builds and the complaints about Microsoft stepping back a notch with the 5048. The complaint on a lessened amount of user friendliness was one stated as the trend is for a business OS.
One big reason why it hasn't been tried here is the need to be a member of MSDN in order to even download the beta releases. But i'll wait a couple of years until they get the creeps out of a new Windows with the new fixes. |
