I'd get a different Power Supply. Preferably an OCZ, Antec, Fortron Source [AKA FSP Group or Sparkle], or PC Power and Cooling, but that's really expensive [PC Power].
Building your own PC is easy, and you'll have our help if you need any.
Also, I'd get AMD. And, you don't need non-Value RAM. Get 2 GB's of Value RAM.
Also, the 7600GS is not as good as a 7600GT. I'd get that, even with less RAM. Or, a 7900GT/7800GT. |

Also Ive never even opened up my current pc's case which i've had for some years now, so i have no experience. |

^^ the x2 3800+ is a good CPU.... also, the original PSU you posted is likely to be generic (especially if it comes with the case)... generic -> not the best...
listen to Reather... on all other issues... Also you do need an SLI board especially if you don't plan to go SLI... I'd go for a7900GT (it rocks! )...
EDIT: I suggest you don't go with the 512MB version of that 7600GS.... the extra memory is *USELESS*...

Thanks |

As Yottahertz said, if you do get the 7600GS, get the non 256.
Also, why does he need a SLI board? Do you mean not going to SLI.
But, with a SLI board, you do get an extra PCI-E slot, that you can put any type of PCI-E card into [x1, x2, x4, x8]. |

A#1 | I have never built anything in my life. I couldn't even put together a LEGO set when i was a kid...even with the instructions. When it comes to putting complex machinery together i am not only clueless but terrified of messing up the job. But if you guys think I can do it i'll give it a shot.
Thanks a bunch so far please feel free to comment on anything else. |
