Need input/help Building a Computer!

I've put together a list of parts that I want to purchase over the summer to build a computer next year for school (I will be a 3rd year computer engineering student). I just want user input on what the most bang for your buck will be and if you foresee any complications with my current rig setup. Mainly, I'm looking for what you would replace or keep the same in order to save money while keeping high end performance. I want to build this for under 3k.

Motherboard: ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon-64 FX60 Dual Core w/ HT(Do I save with an x2?)
Videocard: Dual eVGA 7900GTX 512MB (whats the best SLI card for price?)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Rapter 150GB 16M Cache 10,000 RPM 10k RPM
Sound Card: Creative Lab Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum (whats the difference between Platinum/Xtreme Music?)
Memory: Corsair XMS 2GB

Now I need input on best Mid Tower Casing and Power Supply (able to support SLI), and opinions about best cooling methods along with any other suggestions!

Thats my updated list of parts, the MSI MB has soundblaster audigy chip built in, should i just scratch the sound card? And anyone have any opinions on the x2 chips and how does the 7900GT compare with the GTX?
