Question
Can anyone help me with this flashing task bar problem?

Hey everyone,
I have posted about this problem here a few weeks back.

Randomly about every 10-15 minutes in my task bar a program of some unknown type flashes, it has a little blank white box inside the tab. When this happens it also blinks my mouse pointer and for a brief second the hourglass appears next to the pointer.

I have run every known spyware, malware, virus program I can think of. My system is clean.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated because this is driving me crazy, it is very distracting.

Thanks.

That is most likely a false statement. You could possess every anti-everything program and ur system might still not be clean.

Hi Exreaction.
I ran hijackthis and there were 2 "Nasty" files from Real Tek audio. I check marked both and deleted them but still there is something wrong. Keeps on flashing in my task bar.

Thx.

If you could still post the log file we might see something that could be causing this...

There is a running processes scanner as well that is really good at detecting problem programs in your running processes that might not show up in your spyware scans but I can not remember what it was at the moment.

You definatly have a lot of things running...I would go through them and remove whatever you don't use often...

There are almost too many things to pinpoint what could be doing that...I would guess one of the Asus or HP programs though...but it could easily be any other one.

Do you remember when this started?

Thanks for the speedy reply EX.

Problem is, I don't know what I need and don't need. I don't want to delete something I need.....right?

Really don't know how this works. But do I go back to hijackthis.de and do another scan and start deleting items?

Thanks

Well, if you don't know what you need, I would just leave it...you could end up removing something you shouldn't be...then you might have a hard time fixing it.
