Okay. Is your computer overclocked, is the room getting hotter because of the summer, and is the AntiVirus constantly using CPU %? Answer those and you might actually get some answers to your question cuz it's kinda vague What's your system setup?

You could try Symantec's Autofix to see if somethimg is wrong with the install.

http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/home_homeoffice/index_ts.html

or other support/help. Norton is known to cause problems with some systems.

And as above , some more info would be helpful.

And Welcome to TechIMO.

EDIT;
Forgot the link for the Help/support, http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/hom...ice/index.html

to rule out a possible mouse problem...look at your desktop and type the first letter of any shortcut on your desktop...i.e. (My Computer)...type the letter "M" one time...this will highlight the 'My Computer' icon then use the keyboard key on the lower righthand side of your keyboard to the right of your windows key...this key is the same as right clicking a mouse...you can use your cursor...arrow keys to navigate through the properties menu and try and open a program that way...if this works...look at repairing your mouse drivers

I would try doing a System Restore to an earlier date.

Press Start button > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Restore to a date before you had Norton on ur PC.

See this thread for additional help.
