A lot of what's in most PDF files is in a graphics format, not text. Very difficult - it would sort of have to be an OCR type file scanner to derive the character patterns from the file. Perhaps someone has done it. Check the various download sites like MajorGeeks.com, download.com, sourceforge, etc. There may be some actual text characters in the file so you might get lucky (if it is a non-compressible word such as Microsoft - no repeating characters) with a standard file search, bit it'll be seldom.
But here's something that might be helpful and is easily found using web search engines (shame on you, running the Tom Sawyer scam on us!): http://windowsxp.mvps.org/pdfsearch.htm
