RAM issue

i recently added a 256 ddr ram stick (pc2100/2700) to my cousins computer about a week ago and it ran great afterward, huge difference

but i went on it today and it seemed more sluggish like before, i checked to make sure the system still recognized the peice and it did.. my question is one of the sticks reads pc2100 and the new one is recognized as 2700.

Is that a problem, are the two supposed to have identical types to run more efficiently?

So you have two sticks of Memory installed. One is PC2100, the other is PC2700....

The 2700 will be running at 2100 Speeds. Memory will always run at the lowest Memory speed you have installed in the system.

To run more efficiently, both sticks need to be the same speed.
