I would always suggest getting a cheap mic...mine cost a couple dollars and does exactly what it should.

Are you looking for a stand-alone microphone?
    Or connected to headphones?

    Also, whats budget around?

I don't agree with the cheap aspect of mic's. The people I know with cheap mic's hurt every one elses ears! If you are going to be using Teamspeak I highly reccomend getting a headset, I used plantronic audio 90's for a couple years. They have great sound and the mic is great and only cost what (20 bucks?). The only problem is that my wires would go dead after 8 months of using them. Not sure if it was my chair rolling over the wires or just the bad wires.

You can get them at newegg.com.

Yea, doubt that mic is any good, wera.

Anyways, I agree that you should get a good quality headset. I have this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106463. I find it crystal clear, the SRS is great, and the mic is outanding. I bought that headset instead of a 6.1 speaker system...and I'm not dissapointed!

I own the sennheiser 155's, I actually don't like them as much as the audio 90's. They squeezed my ears to the point of hurting for the first few months. They don't hurt anymore, not sure if it is because I don't wear them as much or my ears have toughened up.

The sound quality doesn't seem any better with the sennheiser, however if they hold up better I will be happy.

I had the exact same experience. I bought the Sennheiser 150 (similar to the 155, but without the USB adapter) as an "upgrade" to my Plantronics A90. The audio quality was a notch better than the A90's, but it was not nearly as comfortable. After a few hours, my ears were hurting whereas the A90's didn't make my ears hurt even if I wore them all day. I ended up giving the Sennheisers away and went back to the Plantronics.

This doesn't surprise me at all since Plantronics is known for making professional level headsets that are meant to be worn for hours on end. People that work in call centers or teleconference for hours each day will swear by them. If you're going to be gaming for hours on end, then comfort should be your first consideration, followed by audio quality.

Oh and don't ever consider a stand-alone mic for teamspeak! A headset with a noise cancelling mic is absolutely essential. Anything else will invoke the wrath of your teammates.

all mics for computers are the eletric-condenser type of element, and they are all the same, and can be had for a few cents, but when combined with a headset with boom type mic can change the price a lot, also the speakers and ear muff on the head set will add to the cost, and the mic is always the same element.
