How tough and rugged is the iPod 30 Gig?
Hi, I'm a landscaper and I want a good high capacity mp3 player out on the job with me so I can listen to all my music. I'm worried about whether or not the 30gig iPod will be able to withstand the rigors of my work. Now, I know for sure that having the right protective case is everything, my worries stem from whether a harddrive based player will work good and remain functional even when one is shaken around a lot (and I mean a lot). I'm the guy who rides the larger riding mower and I get thrown around and shaken, so with the right case does a harddrive-based iPod stand a chance? Will it work even with all the vibrations? Or is a flash-based player what I want (which can't hold my full library)?

What is the size of your library?
The new nanos coming out soon i believe are supposed to have a larger amount of space. Trust me even with all that space you barely even come close to listening to all of it. Even when the ipod is set to shuffle.

Bingo! I'm moving out of Flint. This is a really nice little town (Village) with a successfully redeveloped downtown. Walking less than a block to the Mexican, Chinese, Amerian, and Sushi...
