I said that it wouldn't work, the second MB link wasn't a motherboard, it was the same processor. |

The mobo link says supports athlon 64 fx, athlon 64 and sempron and I dont see am2. Im just trying to find a duel core processor around $150 that will work. Any help would be appreciated |

thanks for the clarity
the soltex board doesn't support dual core cpu's
plain and simple
single core only

That mobo will work fine with that 939 x2 3800. You may have to do a BIOS update to get x2 support, but probably isn't necessary (considering how long x2 cores have been around). Quote:

I thought there was a revision that made the K8T890 compatible with
x2's? | Hopefully that is true. How long have the x2's been around because the newest bios update is March of 05 |
