Outlook
im new to this outlook stuff...ive always just used web based yahoo email and stuff but im switching to gmail and gonna start using outlook in order to sync my mail to my motorola Q...
anyways....is there a way to have outlook open so it will actually tell me when i have mail, but not have it taking up space on the task bar, just a little icon in the notification area near the clock in lower left hand corner of the screen would be nice....or is there a way to have the program closed but still notify you of mail and such....?Macbook Pro 15"

I use Pop Peeper to keep track of 5 different email accounts for me. I have it set to check the servers every 5 minutes. It sits in the tray and notifies me right away if it finds anything on any of these servers. It works with web mail as well. If you like, you can read, reply, forward or delete your mail without ever downloading it through your email client. I am quite pleased with it.

If its Outlook 2003, click on the icon in the system tray, and tick 'Hide when minimized'. This will minimize it to the system tray without interfering with the toolbar and also alert you when you have mail with a small icon in the system tray. It will also display a pop-up by default.
Im sure previous versions of outlook have the similar option. I only have 2003, so I dont know about others.
