It's an anti-spyware/ad-ware program. It should get rid of the 'my web search'.

Spybot is a good choice to remove annoying things, use with Ad Aware because they don't have the same database.

Glad that you don't have it anymore.

    Some good tools to use:

    CW Shredder: http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract..._download.html

    Spyware Blaster: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/downloads.html

Hijack This (use with caution): http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

try the adaware, it'll probably find alot more crap on your computer. A quick fix would be: start/run, msconfig, check in startup and see if there's a 'mywebseach' entry you can unclick.

My Web Search can also be removed by using the Add/Remove Program feature in Windows and for added reliability run the Spybot after you do that. If you don't then you get that MWSBAR message that gets annoying. Glad you got rid of it anyway.

np, btw I got it from some other tech that told me a long time ago. funny how sometimes the tech world resembles the world before writing, so much gets passed on by word of mouth (or keyboard lol)

if you have mywebsearch on your computer then you have downloaded something to do with mywebsearch so go into control panel and scroll down until you find something that comes with it and uninstall it.
when i done that my laptop was so fast and my messenger worked again
    ok
